The Very Best Key Lime Pie


Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Combine the sweetened condensed milk, the egg yolks and the lime juice in a mixing bowl. Blend the ingredients until they are smooth and pour into a pre-baked pie shell or a graham cracker crust pie shell.

Bake for 15 minutes or until a toothpick can be inserted and removed without the filling sticking to it. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.

If using the easy pie crust recipe, bake the pie shell first. Place tin foil over the edge of the pie crust to that the crust edges don't become to brown. Use a fork to poke a few holes in the bottom of the pie crust to release the air bubbles that will form when baking.

You can also place a small baking dish in the center of the pie crust to prevent it from rising from the surface of the pie plate while cooking.
