How to Make Cupcakes

Wondering how to make cupcakes from a cake recipe for your tea party, birthday party, or bridal shower? It's easy!

Any cake recipe can be a cupcake recipe. Place cupcake liners in your cupcake pan to avoid having to grease it.

For a kid's birthday party, complement your cupcakes with our cupcake party kit below.

Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees, and bake your cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes.

You can check to see if your cupcakes are done by inserting a toothpick into the center of one of the cupcakes. If it removes without batter on it, then your cupcakes are done. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before icing.

The amount of batter you put in each cup will determine how fast they cook and how many cupcakes the recipe will render. For big billowing tops, fill the cupcake tin 7/8 full. For cupcake tops that don't spill over, fill each cupcake tin 3/4 full.

How to Make Cupcakes: Easy Sweet Cream Cupcakes

  • 2 1/2 cups of flour
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/3 cups of sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups heavy cream (whipping cream)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of real vanilla
Mix flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside. Beat eggs until they are very thick and gradually add sugar while continuing to beat. Transfer the egg and sugar mixture into a large mixing bowl.

Stir the flour mixture and the heavy whipping cream into the eggs and sugar a little at a time, alternating between dry and wet ingredients.

Alternate between dry and wet ingredients, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Add vanilla and stir. Pour into a cupcake pan lined with cupcake liners. Bake in a 400-degree pre-heated oven for 18 or 20 minutes. Check for doneness before removing from oven.
