How to Make Cupcakes
Wondering how to make cupcakes from a cake recipe for your tea party, birthday party, or bridal shower? It's easy!
Any cake recipe can be a cupcake recipe. Place cupcake liners in your cupcake pan to avoid having to grease it.
For a kid's birthday party, complement your cupcakes with our cupcake party kit below.
Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees, and bake your cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes.
You can check to see if your cupcakes are done by inserting a toothpick into the center of one of the cupcakes. If it removes without batter on it, then your cupcakes are done. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before icing.
The amount of batter you put in each cup will determine how fast they cook and how many cupcakes the recipe will render. For big billowing tops, fill the cupcake tin 7/8 full. For cupcake tops that don't spill over, fill each cupcake tin 3/4 full.
Stir the flour mixture and the heavy whipping cream into the eggs and sugar a little at a time, alternating between dry and wet ingredients.
Alternate between dry and wet ingredients, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Add vanilla and stir. Pour into a cupcake pan lined with cupcake liners. Bake in a 400-degree pre-heated oven for 18 or 20 minutes. Check for doneness before removing from oven.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Blend flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl. Add softened butter and almond extract. Beat for about 2 minutes. Then add eggs and beat for another 2 minutes. Finally add coconut and beat a minute longer until it is well incorporated. Scoop the cupcake batter into a lined cupcake tin and bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
Mix the sugar, corn syrup and water in a saucepan and boil up to 242 degrees (or until you can spin a long thread of sugar from the spoon).
Pour slowly into the beaten egg whites and beat constantly. Add the vanilla and a few drops of food coloring if desired. Continue to beat the mixture until it is fluffy and will hold its shape.
One of the best things about birthday party cupcakes is that everyone can get their very own cake, candle and wish. Cupcakes are so much fun, why not make it your entire party theme and celebrate the cupcake in a big way!
